Speak out to support vaccines bill – Ventura County Star, 7/13/2019
As the still-grieving brother of a sibling who died of measles encephalitis at age 5, I am deeply disturbed by our governor’s comments on this subject. I thought that this matter was settled on 2015 with the passage of SB277, but it appears that the unethical conduct of doctors willing to sign medical exemption waivers for cash without examining patients is OK with Gavin Newsom and, apparently, the state medical board.
Parents of school-age children need to stand up to the anti-vaxxers at every opportunity. If your state representative, state senator, school board or city council officials only hear from those opposed to mandatory vaccination as a prerequisite to attending public schools, they could be tempted to compromise your child’s exposure to a deadly disease.
Drop them an email and let them know that you demand your right to a school environment as disease-free as they can make it and that you support SB276.
